About The Event

William Shakespeare, "The day of Strigla" from the Tree Theater directed by Leandros Taliotis.

This popular Shakespearean comedy, entitled "The taming of the shrew" or "The Strigla who became a lamb" or "The day of the strigla", premiered in 1592 or 1593 and is entirely a theater within the theater, a performance by playwrights in the tower of a lord which is played not for the lord himself but for a drunken genius, Lera, whom the lord and his servants carry to the lord's bed, put on the lord's clothes and, when he wakes up , they treat him like a lord - even a servant is dressed as a woman to impersonate his lady. And they persuade a touring troupe that arrived at the tower to perform in front of "His Excellency".
